is it okay for my cockatiel to go without a perch for a little while?

My boy got a little idiot cone around his neck so he can't pick at his wound and make it bleed. This is causing him to be unable to climb on stuff because he usually uses his beak for support when climbing. He kept getting stuck under his perch so I took it out of the cage but I worry about his feet and stuff :( He's so bored, we had to separate him from his partner until his wound heals n I don't know what to dooo
