Bike Dies While Riding

Bought the DR650 used from a local dealer with 13k miles. I had issues with the bike dying on me after a week, and it would not start up again for 5-15min.

I took the bike to the shop and they said it was a loose jet and fixed it. The issue reoccurred 8 miles down the road from the shop lol.

Second time around they replaced the stator and it seems to be working great. I’ve put another 100 miles on it, and then I adjusted the idle speed and fuel enrichment and I am having the exact same issues again. But I noticed a slight electrical smell for the first time.

I was told the previous owner replaced the carb and it seems like the pro cycle jet kit.

Would running it too lean cause these issues? I’ve been reading a lot of similar posts and one stated that once you get to highway speeds it’s a different circuit than what the fuel enrichment adjusts.
