Person throwing bricks at cars on 90-E overpass near exit 6 (Mercer Island) yesterday ~5:45pm: anyone witness / have dash cam footage?
Pretty much what the title says. My boyfriend was driving home from work yesterday on 90-E, and at ~5:45pm just as he entered the tunnel on Mercer Island that starts after the floating bridge span (near Exit 6), someone threw a brick from the tunnel overpass and it hit his windshield, right in front of his face. It obviously scared the shit out of him but he is thankfully not injured.
He called 911 right away to alert them. When we spoke to the cops later last night (non-emergency) they were super unhelpful; wouldn’t even provide a police report because “they eventually sent someone to the area later and didn’t see anyone”, and “its a windshield so it’s less than $1k damage”.
He JUST had his windshield replaced ~2 weeks ago because a rock kicked up on I-5, (which prob saved his life since the old cracked windshield would NOT have held up). It’s honestly terrifying and I see these brick/rock-throwers as attempted murderers. Also not looking forward to another $700+ windshield replacement on top of everything.
Very long shot, but did anyone happen to witness this and/or have dashcam footage? He specifically was in a red Hyundai Elantra, but any info is helpful for documentation sake.
Thanks all and stay safe out there.
