How to find a part Time job

Hello everyone, i am a student living in Dublin for a few months and i'm looking for a part Time job, i've searched on Indeed and jobs.ie but did'nt find a lot, so i'm wondering if it is common that a lot of establishment don't post online when they hire, and if it is common to just ask in a restaurant or at the reception in a store, thanks you very much
