I have 900 hours in Splatoon 3, and this single event increased my lifetime total of gold scales by 2.5X
Getting so many scales all at once is fun and rewarding and everything.
But I think that for me, it also just reinforces just how unreasonably stingy they have been with handing out Scales.
And not just scales, they're seriously stingy with the boss salmonid fights too.
I've always felt like that in order to fight the boss salmonids, I have to grind far longer than I would otherwise be willing to play on most rotation. And none of that progress I'd make on the meter would carry over to the next shift.
900 hours is, BTW, more than I've played any game in my entire life. More than I've played entire franchises. Salmon run isn't the main mode I play, but for a good while I'd play every single shift.
