Completing rainbow falls early

Whenever I get to rainbow falls (and that happens more rarely these days) I find that even though it says the next stage is locked for x number of hours, if I have clicked on it, it will quite often let me continue playing the stages anyway.

Is this normal or is it some random glitch I have? (not super-upset by it to be fair)
