[ps2][2000s] A game where you die in order to advance

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a game I played a couple of times on a hacked ps2 back in 2008/9. I can't find it because I don't remember the name. All I remember is the character had white hair and wore a white coat and you walked through corridors killing fish-looking enemies. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, please tell me its name.
