Dr. ColorChip Color Match Issue

My new Borasco Grey Jaguar I Pace received a nasty gouge. I ordered a DrCC touch up kit for the car. See photos for the process. The fill is good enough given how bad the gouge was, but the color match is way off. I've used DrCC in the past with good results on a white car and a red car, but this is the second gray/silver car that I've attempted a DrCC repair and in both cases it was noticeably darker than the surrounding paint. I'm in Florida, so it has been hot and humid, but I allowed plenty of time between coats. I've tried buffing and blending and using a light polishing compound, but the color of the DrCC is way off from the paint color. Will the repaired area lighten over time? Any suggestion for making this look better?
