Questions for spinal surgeon

Hi all. I have my consult tomorrow with the spinal surgeon for my discectomy. Are there any questions that you think I should ask to better help me understand the pros/cons of moving forward with the procedure? For context, I have tried conservative management for two badly herniated discs for the last six months, with my most recent flare two weeks ago. I think this is the only solution to this persistent pain but would value your insights/feedback. Thanks so much.
