Doctor has recommended 2 different surgery options for SLAP tear
Got a good SLAP tear and need surgery. Saw the surgeon last week and he recommended two different options.
I am over 50 and he says SLAP tear surgery has a 25% failure rate for people my age. He is recommending Biceps tenodesis surgery instead which has a higher success rate. He described it as removing my bicep muscle from the labrum and drilling a hole in my shoulder and attaching the bicep muscle through the hole with a titanium pin to hold it.
Any comments or recommendations on this surgery or is it better to stick with the normal surgery?
