The Acolyte is better if you watch the flashbacks first.

TV

A friend came up for my birthday, and this had been nagging at the back of my mind. A New Hope was saved in the editing bay, which refocused on different pieces of information. I can’t even begin to express how much better this is. There is so much information to absorb if you start on “Lost/Found” that it makes it difficult to appreciate the nuances in the performances, and some of the performances come off as flat.

  1. Destiny

  2. Choice

  3. Lost/Found

  4. Revenge/Justice

  5. Day

  6. Night

  7. Corrupt/Teach

  8. The Acolye

By allowing the episodes to unfold in a linear fashion, we are given an on ramp into who these people are, what happened, and why would should care that Jedi are being killed. We learn about the core conflict, and that there is information being held secret, but we know what happened, and get to see the fallout be as much of tragedy as what happened on Brendok. Sol has grown tremendously since what happened on Brendok and you get to pick up the nuance of their performances, and how he tells Jeckie about what happened feels more like a rehearsed lie than a moment of cardboard acting.

My friend just stopped to text his brother to watch the “Flashback” Order. We highly recommend giving it a shot!
