Home warranty question

I had my home inspected prior to close. And I just closed today!

I…also had hvac, electrical, and plumbing guys come today to do a more thorough once-over, a perk of a monthly membership to a great local company.

So I’ve owned this home for a few hours.

HVAC showed me corrosion on the heat exchanger of the heating with cooling unit I have that he says makes it a carbon monoxide risk and turned the gas off. He also said that removing the paneling and snaking in a camera goes beyond the scope of home inspectors.

My agent provided me home warranty coverage. But she’s also telling me to wait to take any action, which is contrary to the recommendation of the tech.

Can I call the home warranty people? Is it a lost cause?
