Deleted text messages.

I'm on a galaxy s23 using Google messages. I blocked two people a few months ago after a falling out. Recently I went back into my "blocked/spam" contacts and the one portion of text that makes one person look bad are gone.

Exactly one month of texts to the exact date a month prior are gone. Mine and theirs. This is odd because the text messages with the other person I blocked are all still there.

Is it possible for someone to delete messages they sent, from their phone, and mine?.
