Should I wash the steps now or wait? Will the smell affect the kittens?

For two weeks, 5 kittens and their mama been living on my porch steps.

This week the kittens have learned to make their own solids so I've been cleaning that up daily.

I want to scrub the steps because it starting to stink by my door. But I am scared the scent of cleaning products will make the mother cat move the kittens.

I only have two more days before someone is coming to take them.

Should I wait to clean my steps of the smell or would it be okay to do it now?
