What can I use to read pictures from CD made on won 98?

Hello. I have several CDs with baby pictures. They were written on Sony 8x cdr drive installed in windows 98 machine. When I tried to read them on Windows XP or windows 7 I get nothing. The CD s are not even recognized. I can see that CD is half filled but unable to read. None of them. Is there any way to get the pictures off those CDs?
