help me
i’m struggling severely with addiction to cannabis. It’s harming me spiritually and physically. It stops me from being connected to god (i feel guilty/wrong trying to connect under the influence) and it’s taking a toll on me physically and mentally..I’m pretty young, under 18 and i’ve been noticing the brain fog/memory loss for probably 2 years now but time has gone by so fast. Now that im beginning to look into the faith i feel slightly more motivated to quit but still doesn’t stop me from doing it when i wake up, before i eat, before school, before bed. I’ve been slightly trying to balance it where i feel im sober enough to connect spiritually without feeling guilty but then feel immediately insincere to god when i go right back to it. I’ve been told to pray about it but honestly i’m worried to pray about it because i feel there’s no way i’m able to stop and i would be insincerely asking for aid without the will to change. I’m so attached but lie to myself and make excuses and give reasons to continue doing it, i realize that and i’m still trapped in this routine. i don’t feel like myself without it or motivated to do anything. I rely on it more then myself. Is there a way to balance it out and still be spiritually virtuous?
