Looking for something to work on? Willing to donate labor/supplies to help support a massive multi-town project?
Peppinopolis is shaping up to be a fine town. We are on good terms with a lot of neighboring towns and we appear to have steady growth. We have a few minor disagreements internally but for the most part we are very stable and fairly wealthy.
The plan:
So I make this appeal in an attempt to help put + - on the map and become an attraction to new members.
Fellowship is having some minor internal struggles, but they are working diligently on a very ambitious project designed by Peppinopolis' own, 0ptixs.
link to the design is here (and will be updated with more details by 0ptixs) http://www.reddit.com/r/CivcraftFellowship/comments/1fjsu0/fellowships_town_design_created_by_0ptix/
Basically, the project is a huge, multi-level, hexagon structure. It will require hundreds of thousands of blocks being moved for the complete structure, which spans from bedrock to sky limit.
Brimstone Co-op has been actively helping by spending time digging, planning, donating crops, iron picks, etc. We also plan on helping build a better travel route. Fellowship has people working in different shifts: some planting, some digging, some gathering materials for crafting, etc.
The site is about 1700m away, but we could easily build a more comprehensive travel route to get there. If people are willing to donate rails and help dig canals this journey could be made in a no time at all.
Current progress and benefits of helping the project:
In the past few days there has been so much stone moved that if you logged out while in the hexagon you risk falling to your death next time you log in.
I believe this project could benefit both towns. The more people that decide to help out, the quicker we can get this built. Gathering personal wealth is a fine endeavor, and in the long run I believe this will help make a vibrant market place. A hub with at least 2 towns actively participating would be better guarded and less prone to attack. Being a founding member town of a project this size will likely generate a lot of good interest/PR/buzz for Peppinopolis.
The main point of issue seems to me that this is planned as their new town. I think we could easily convince them to augment their plans and have this be a mutual establishment for both a marketplace and citizens, hotels, etc.
However, that remains to be seen. But the people I've met with are a fine group. Regardless of how the official plot ends up in terms of management, politics, etc, this is a group that will make sure that those who helped get the recognition and recompense they deserve.
If you are hesitant or don't feel this project is worthwhile, that is perfectly fine. I believe this project will create a Cambrian Explosion of town upstarts and citizens migrating to the area. That is just my personal opinion though.
