Discussion: Dealing with and countering the new Huskar

Discussion

Here are some heroes and their means to deal with the new Huskar. This is mostly directed to low-level or new players. Oddly enough, a lot of the buffs that made heroes better in 6.78 also seem to work well against the new Huskar. Coincidence or genius balancing by IceFrog? You decide.

Axe

  • Berzerker's Call can reduce incoming damage and control Huskar.
  • Huskar's attack speed should lead to more Counter Helixes (physical damage).
  • Culling Blade goes straight through magic immunity and resist.

Bane

  • Enfeeble greatly reduces Huskar's (no longer increased) damage.
  • Nightmare can simply take Huskar or his target out of the fight.
  • Brain Sap deals pure damage for finishing Huskar off.
  • Fiend's Grip can lock Huskar down; even through magic immunity.

Timbersaw

  • All of his abilities deal pure damage.
  • Whirling Death is conditional, though. You need to cut at-least one tree with it for it to be pure.

  • It also lowers Huskar's primary attribute (Strength) by 15%.

  • Huskar's attack speed will ramp up Reactive Armor quickly.
  • Chakram will keep a significantly-weak Huskar nailed in place.

Viper

  • All of his abilities significantly slow movement/attack speeds.
  • Corrosive Skin returns any damage Huskar deals.
  • Corrosive Skin increases Viper's magic resist against Burning Spears.
  • Nethertoxin makes Viper deal more damage the weaker Huskar is.

Nyx Assassin

  • Carapace can reflect a huge amount of the damage from Life Break.
  • Carapace into Impale can lock Huskar down for approximately 5 seconds.
  • Vendetta can be used to deal huge physical damage to finish Huskar off.

Razor

  • Static Link can take away a lot of Huskar's damage.
  • Eye of the Storm prioritizes the weakest near-by unit (likely Huskar).
  • Eye of the Storm deals physical damage and reduces armor.

Omniknight

  • Repel negates Burning Spears.
  • Purification deals pure damage.
  • Guardian Angel completely counters Huskar's physical damage.

Skeleton King? Mortal Strike him when he's at or under 20% maximum health and then one-shot him. The health swap from Mortal Strike should keep you alive through Burning Spears. If you do die, just get a second chance with Reincarnation!

Now, for lesser mentions that I think might work particularly well:

Troll Warlord and Ursa and Broodmother can simply out-fight Huskar. Troll will just perma-bash him, Ursa will shred through him even if he has full health, and Broodmother's miss chance and massive lifesteal mean out-lasting him.

Slardar's Slithereen Crush and Bash go through magic immunity and deal physical damage. Amplify Damage also reduces Huskar's armor to shit. He'll melt to right-clicks when it's active. Just try not to be sprinting when he decides to turn on you.

Medusa's Mana Shield can mitigate a portion of Huskar's damage, and he'll have no choice but to turn away when she activates Stone Gaze. If he commits, he'll be disabled and take amplified physical damage.

Beastmaster's Primal Roar nails him down hard, Inner Beast gives you and your friends the attack speed to beat his head in quickly, and Wild Axes deal composite damage, which is essentially physical damage.

Alchemist's abilities all ignore Huskar's magic resist. Acid Spray reduces armor and deals composite damage, Unstable Concoction has the potential for a lot of physical damage, a long disable time, and Achemist is pretty tanky with Chemical Rage.

Which of these do you contest? Which heroes am I missing? Discuss how you deal with the new Huskar.
