Hyper Go 16208 - 2S Battery - maximum use time is 10 minutes

I was recommended the RC car mentioned above in this subreddit, and the first run with my son was a blast, though it only lasted 10 minutes. I wasn't aware that the usage time would be so short, so we were both a bit disappointed. Is this common for most RC cars?

My question is, should I stock up on a couple more 2S batteries, or do 3S batteries offer a longer runtime?
