If you stay under ur maintenance for a long time, your body will get used to it and ur BMR will be lower. Does that mean the reverse also happens?

I know I know, building muscle increases BMR therefore TDEE. But just looking at foods nowadays, and how much we eat out, how much I used to eat, I wonder if our bodies have adapted to a higher caloric intake everyday?

I am by no means overweight but I've been working out for a while now, and tracking my diet for 3 weeks now.

I've just started uni, and on days where I get food with my friends, I inevitably go over my goal (around 1600 calories).

Tbf I also don't know my TDEE/BMR, I've started using a calculator but at the same time, been creatine loading so my weight has increased a bit lol.

Got sidetracked, if you consistently eat more calories, why is it that it turns into fat, rather than increasing your BMR/TDEE? But when you've been on a calorie deficit, you'll plateau and decrease your BMR/TDEE?
