Should I talk to AAA now or wait?
Here's my story. DUI in July, blacked out, I used Google Maps to figure out where I was at, I had zero recollection. I got a DUI Lawyer the next day. Later that week, AAA awarded me $23k for my vehicle. After this, I found out what really happened, and that I hit two vehicles and tried to get away, was charged with Misdemeanor DUI, Hit & Run and Evading. The report stated that the officer asked me if I knew I was being followed or knew about the flare thing where they tried to block me in, and I said I did not. I actually have zero memory of the whole night, from the time before I left the bar, until the time I was in the Sherrif's station, being questioned about a ride home. I'm physically disabled.
First court date is this week, I'm not going, my lawyer will represent me. Meanwhile, AAA started calling me last week late Friday, had received two claims. I have not called them back. I'm not sure how to handle them, since my lawyer stated he'll enter in a Not Guilty plea, I was also told by a friend I need an accident lawyer, too, in addition to my DUI lawyer. The same claims rep from before called me (from AAA).
I also have gotten a new vehicle since, got it on my AAA policy and paid for the year in insurance.
Should I wait until after my lawyer enters the plea to call them or are these two independent? I'm afraid of essentially admitting fault to the AAA Claims rep then it getting back to court to worsen my case.
