We finaly went through with the surgery and I am happy to say that she did very well. I thought she would have a full dental extraction but the vet only took out 3 small teeth, I was suspecting the fangs were the problem but the vet said it is still strong so it was not removed.
Although the surgery went well, the pre-op blood test showed that her BUN (14.9) and CREA (20) was high. The vet explained to me that she might have kidney disease. I was researching online and found that in some cases blood results would show kidney problems but it is really just because of the infection in the mouth. I am hoping and praying that this might be the case or the kidney problem will be reversible. Nevertheless, I will put her on renal diet to hopefully improve her kidney levels. As always tips and stories will be greatly appriciated as I am new to handling renal issues in cats.
Thank you to those who shared their kitty's dental stories it really helped put my mind at ease even for a little bit. Hoping to give a very good update in the future.
