How to respond to an insult?

I did engineering and now I am working as an clerk (pay is lower than of an engineer). So this one guy insulted me saying "where is engineering and where is clerk". What should be my response?

I chose the clerk job because it has security. They cant lay me off even in recession. I cleared an exam to get this job. And he has gotten a job in a cooperative firm because his community runs that firm.
