I dreamt I ended a random stranger in a grocery store

I walked up to a person waiting in line and ended that person. I was very calm and numb during the whole thing and I when I tried to think about why I did it, I thought: "I don't have to do my job anymore". I woke up when I realized I'd spend the rest of my life in a max security prison.

FYI I am a senior software developer and while I am very well compensated and I work 100% remote. I love my wife and family and apart from the pressure and burn-out in my job, I'm pretty happy, I eat well and I get to the gym 4-6x a week. We have no financial pressure, since our only debt is 7K left on the house.

This dream has left me very troubled.
