34f [F4M] in the UK seeking long-term friendship online (doesn't matter where you live) with an excellent personal onnection.

F4M United Kingdom / Online

Hello! I'll try to keep this short, but no doubt it will develop into an essay so I apologise for that in advance.

I am a 34 year old woman based in the North of the UK who is seeking a long-term friend who would be willing to discuss all sorts of things with me for hours and hours without getting bored. The existence of aliens? I'm down to discuss it. Paranormal activity? I'm there. Strange schemes to take over the world? We have an alliance. You get the picture.

By now you're probably realising that I'm a little...strange, and I'd be lying if I said that was untrue. I shun normality and convention like it was the plague and as such I'm a bit of a loner and a recluse, but that does mean that I'm a very accepting and open minded person who is good at listening and holding meaningful conversations.

More about me (in case you haven't quit reading by now): I am a writer who specialises in gothic/cosmic horror, dystopia societies and war fiction (so all the hopeless, dour, depressing stuff!) I also love to read in my spare time and have a particular soft spot for Stephen King, JRR Tolkien, HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe. Playing board games is also one of my favourite hobbies and I also play a good deal of video games (currently doing Baldur's Gate 3 honour mode again and some Elden Ring). I don't have any children (nor do I want any) or pets. Oh, and I enjoy going for long walks outside, cooking, enjoying nature, wood branding, acrylic painting and playing the violin. I also used to paint a lot of miniatures for Warhammer 40K and Cthulhu: Death May Die.

I tend to walk around dressed in 'Ye Olde' garb which is more fitting to a Renaissance Faire than to daily life, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I wear a floor length cloak around my house when I'm cold. My neighbours 100% think I am some sort of cultist!

What am I looking for? Well, I've basically been crippled by such severe social anxiety that I've barely left my house for four years unless it was to travel somewhere remote for a walk. People scare me in a far more visceral way than anything from the pages of a monstrous horror novel. However, I've mustered enough courage to try to look for a friend because (whilst I don't feel like I need many friends) someone to share things with and talk to would be wonderful. It takes me a while to open up properly because I have some serious trust issues surrounding people (full disclosure) but I am loyal, caring, considerate and hopefully interesting conversation.

What's most important to me isn't your location...it's your personality and what makes you YOU. Whilst I'm not explicitly looking for anything more than a friendship I will not rule out the idea of a relationship developing much further down the line but I will state now that I do not do FWB or polyamory on 'flings'. With me, it's long term commitment or nothing. But that said, I'm not outwardly looking for anything more than a friendship at this moment.

Anyway, I don't have a clue how these things work so I'll see if anyone made it to the end of this novella and dares to contact the strange lady on the other side of the screen. Thanks for reading, and all the best wishes from me.
