Med doesn't work during a cold?

This is my first cold since starting nurtec and I had an insane migraine for 2 days, it subsided, and now is back but isn't so bad. I haven't had a migraine this severe since before starting the med. Anyone else notice their med not work when they have a cold/are sick?
