Has anybody ever been privy to a JW 'scam' of rebuilding homes after a natural disaster, and then the insurance money being donated in full to the bOrg (in a systematic and organized protocol)?

I remember a comment in a post a few years ago - an ExJW that ran a construction company said that (while PIMI) he often used his construction company to help in rebuilding efforts and 'humanitarian' work following natural disasters that had destroyed JW homes.

The explanation that I remember is that this ExJW was NOT an elder, nor a local bigwig, but because no bigwig was available, they asked him to do these very bizarre social calls to JWs that had their homes rebuilt. He was to suggest to these JWs that seeing how their homes were insured, as a gesture of gratitude, they could donate the insurance payout to the bOrg in 'exchange' for the fact that their home had been rebuilt. As I recall, he only ever did this once, but realized that this was basically business as usual for the bOrg, and the only reason he was privy to it is because the bOrg did not have somebody on hand to do these money-grabbing social calls on this occasion.

Does anybody know about this? This would strike me as one of the best money making schemes, if it is true...
