My new laptop is having screen problems... should I be worried about my data going kaput?

Every few hours, the screen goes black with only screen time icon in the middle for about 5 seconds then it returns to normal. I don't know why it keeps doing this and how to stop it. I keep worrying it could be hacked? Then every few weeks, the screen goes black and doesn't respond to anything (the light keyboard stays lit). It doesn't respond to anything so I have to turn it off (have to press the power button for over 30 seconds) so it reboots then it's fine. Should I be worried my laptop is gonna go kaput and lose all my data? It is a Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 with Intel Core i7.
