Do Killers Still Like Items?

Recently anytime I have a nice killer who hooks us all and then opens the gate all “okay had fun toodles”, I’ll give them my toolbox and they’ll swing like they don’t want it. Is it seen as disrespectful now? I don’t want to offend killers who make the effort to not tunnel.
