Talk me out of, (or maybe into) a X-T5

Help

Hello everyone, as the title says, I’m looking to get a X-T5, and I’m wondering if it’s the right camera for me.

A little background on me, started learning on film when I was in high school 20 years ago, shot film on Canons for years. I had an Olympus 4:3 digital system for a while, I’ve taken a break from photography, and I’m looking to get back into it.

Like everyone- I saw the X100VI, and I’m jealous I don’t have it. I was able to try one out and I really liked it. Seems like the perfect travel camera for me because that’s the type of lens set up I’d usually keep on vacation 95% of the time anyway. The in camera film processing is very cool. I could see myself using this as the older I get the less I want to be in Lightroom.

That said, I can’t justify waiting around that long for it’s basically unitasker. The Fuji lens system seems cool- I tend to stick to one or two primes for street, and like a multitasker and that’s really it. Again, most of what I’m shooting is going to be street or casual style photography. Party stuff but nothing more than maybe a simple flash because it’s for friends and nothing professional (but I want them to be nice because my friends have a good taste in art lol)

I saw the X-T50 and Nikon Zfc- both are cool, but disappointed a little by the build quality. I like something a little stronger with weather sealing.

I want to see the Nikon ZF in person, but it seems like it’s bulky. That said I really like the overall build quality of it and it seems like the Nikon lens system that currently has for limited, but it can use a lot of different Nikon lenses from over the years, which is pretty cool. I know that it also has film simulations, but I know that the presets aren’t nearly as good as Fuji. Never had an icon, I’ve actually been adverse to them before. This is the first one I’m considering.

The reason I’m asking about the XT-5 is because it’s hard to get one in person. they are almost always sold out, but I have no problem buying from a place like b&h and returning it if I hate it for some reason. they’ve always been solid to me.

so that all said, what am I hesitant about?

-it seems they refresh this camera body every two years, is there one around the corner? Should I just wait for that?

-i’ve heard people complain about the auto focus. Is it really that bad? What makes it so bad? I feel like I can’t get a sense of what people are complaining about

-What’s long-term reliability like with this thing ? Anyone have any issues? I see a lot of glowing reviews, but you know that’s always suspicious.

-it seems to me like a lot of people also complain about the lenses in this series being old at this point. Any thoughts on if these are going to be upgraded soon? Any other lenses I should be looking at?
