Revisiting this old love of mine. Whose YOUR trash 2?

Playing the GBA version as I don't want the pixel remaster and the old steam version is about $500 on steam key sites etc.

So I am prepping for the Esper cave, I like to stop and go to the Veldt and teach everyone all magic I can, this includes getting Zona Seek and Golem from Jidoor as well as Sephrim from Tzen. For those that don't know/remember Esper give stats on level up so you want to get to the next world at lowest level possible to get the most benefit. Fond memory incoming from SNES version: Had an argument with my brother who thought Sabin, Edgar, And Terra were trash. Fact he couldn't beat most WoR content. Where as I had NO issues. Turns out back in the rapids escape from Returner's hideout he used an auto controller and went round and round on auto/memory till they were 99. NO esper bonuses. Fun memory.

So I'm getting people all set for WoR. Specific focus Setzer, Edgar, Sabin, and when I get her back, Celes. Those who know know. Those who don't These are the first 4 characters you get back in WoR. But to the Who are your trash 2? The final dungeon needs 3 parties up to 4 each for 12. But there are 14 characters. My 2 are the uncontrolables. Gau and Umaro. Basically for that one word. Uncontrolable. Now I don't see them as useless. When I go up against the Ice Dragon Umaro is front and center. Hell Fond memory INC: SNES version. Took Umaro, Edgar, Sabin, And Mog to go up against the ice dragon. I was WAY unprepared and he took out all but Umaro who absorbed all ice attacks. Fast forward to an HOUR of Umaro on Auto sans blizz orb beating on this dragon till he won.

So back to the point. When YOU go to Kefka's tower who mans the airship for YOU? Gau your rages amaze me but if i ever mess up and you're all I have left and your stuck in rage theres a good chance at TKO. Same for Umaro. I want to have control up to the end so I can quick+life 2/3 as many as possible. I grew up in the NES and SNES era and I mained RPGs. There isn't a RPG on them that was released in the US naturally (though I mastered many of the others anyways) I can randomly answer damn near anything without looking it up. Off the top of my head from FF6 6:10:50. And I have that laser cut into my mind due to on the SNES version I didn't know how to get the answer so I brute forced it. Same goes for Deus Ex on PC. So many keypad codes....0001 0002 0003 0004, till it opened LOL. I was not a smart 12ish year old.
