Weiler E70 HD problems

Hey everyone looking for some help or insight regarding a 2 year old weiler E70 (HD)

This machine is basically brand new but unfortunately has significant damage due to incompetent operators and shop idiots.

The machine has had multiple tools destroyed on it, tool crashed into the 24” chuck, a 300 pound part dropped on the ways, creating a small crack about 15” from the headstock.

We primarily do oilfield repair work, large parts, API connections. The back side of the tail stock end of the machine has been hit with idiots carrying parts with the crane and hitting the machine.

The problem that is re occurring, and has been looked over by 3 different experienced millwrights in the last 2.5 months, is significant vibration during tapered threading operations. Not chatter, I mean the whole carriage is vibrating. You can feel it yourself standing next to the machine without touching the machine itself. The front gib is always coming loose, and is almost always just this front gib alone.

All of this started after the part was dropped, and the way was cracked. The last time a millwright was here was exactly 7 days ago, he looked over everything in the carriage, inspecting the ballscrew and tightening the gibs. It is now a week later and the problem has returned. A millwright will be back today to look over EVERYTHING.

Is there any one who has experienced something similar to this? Is there something I’m missing, or can tell the millwright to look into specifically? Thank you for reading
