Anyone else lose weight after a partial thyroidectomy?

I had a partial thyroidectomy on 10/24, so it’s been about 2 weeks now. The day before surgery, I was around 150 lbs, close to 152 lbs, and now I’m down to 145 lbs.

I didn’t eat much for the first 2 days after surgery, but after that, my appetite went through the roof, I’m getting seconds at lunch and dinner. I actually thought I’d gain weight with how much I’m eating, but I noticed I look a bit leaner, so I checked and realized I lost weight instead. I'm not on meds btw.

Also, I’m about a week out from my period, and I usually gain around 4 lbs before it starts, so this weight loss is really throwing me off.

Has anyone else experienced this after a partial thyroidectomy?
