The Absolute Basics Pt. 1
Lets cut the flowery talk introduction paragraph and get right to the the meat of it. You wanna learn how to get better at graffiti. Well that can be done. The first step is incredibly simple. The best resource you can have at the begining stages is probably right under your screen. I'm talking about your keyboard.
Lesson number one is called simples and bars. Look at your keyboard. Do you see how the letters are constructed? They dont have any flashy bits to do, no arrows, no pipelines, no alternating bar widths. They are plain, vanillla, but heres the thing, these motherfuckers will take you far in the begining. They will put you on thier back and carry you to a better tomorrow. Constructing the basic letters, using bars of equal width and height teaches you what make the difference between a M and N. Copy every letter on your keyboard and build them with bars. Go through the whole alphabet at least 20 times, or more until you think you understand the basic idea.
Once you do that, open up a new page on your web browser, and google random word generator. Sketch what ever word that thing pops out at you, but once again, do it using bars. Do this for 200 words. KEEP IT SIMPLE. You wanna spice it up, you can have all the letters slant in a direction. Maybe put in some drop shadow, or 3D. Hell, if you even fancy it, pull out your crayolas and do a simple fill. But don't move into anything more complicated than that at this point oryou are doing yourself a disservice.
