Did someone just try to grief me and fail? (court martialed)

I joined a game via quickplay. Everything was going fine, we had samples, closed all the bug holes and the shuttle was on its way for evac. Overall a pretty smooth run. About 10 seconds before the shuttle landed everyone else vanished and in the chat box it said I was court martialed. Turns out it was no big deal, I checked the map and the samples were dropped by whoever had them. Picked them up and got in the shuttle and finished the mission with full rewards.

Did the host try to kick me and prevent me from getting rewards right at the end? If so, I guess the joke is on them.
