UTS misconduct

So i got 0 for an assessment earlier this year, because of plagiarism/cheating. Basically i copied some code from a github online. I've admitted to it, and sent an email to the misconduct team telling them exactly what I did, and how I'm ashamed that I did it.

It's been almost 6 months since the assesment. Even though it's my first offence and I know the likely scale of penalties, I've just been playing the waiting game for ages and its actually stressing me out (I know, this is 100% my fault).

I guess my question is what can i do other than just wait? I know I stuffed up and I'm genuinely ashamed that i was so lazy with this task, but how much longer do I have to wait? Is it because there's so many cases? Is it because they are short staffed? I'm also really wary of calling them and asking what's going on because that falls under harassment, and I don't want to be accused of that.

I genuinely don't know how much longer I can just wait, it's on my mind 24/7 and I just want to move past it. I've also been told it's been sent to the GSU, and the subject coordinator of the subject basically said it's now in their hands and I can only wait.
