Adding custom xkb keymap

So, I found this custom xkb keymap which imposes swedish Å, Ä, Ö onto the ANSI layout. I followed the steps detailed and configured the files under /usr/share/X11/xkb/*. The problem is that when I try to find the keymap using localectl list-x11-keymap-layouts se, I cant find it. I looked for some way to reload the xkb keymaps but can't really find what I'm looking for.

I'm using Hyprland and I tried to set the kb_variant anyways and it seemed to almost work. The Å, Ä, Ö we're imposed on an otherwise ANSI layout BUT the keys they now occupy - which are supposed to be accessed using AltGr - did not work. Any help here is appreciated.
