Good news! But…
Hi all! After searching and dying for a year with job interviews, I finally have an offer. It’s a receptionist role for a tech firm in NYC. I am an entry level person who just graduated w an mba (in May). My main experience is film related (as that was my BA degree) but I recently had a chance to have office assistant experience in a hedge fund (temp job).
BUT! The salary is 25$/hr thus, 52k a year. Granted it is higher than the median, I want to negotiate to at least 55k or (ideally) 60k and above.
I am new to the world of negotiating, how can I work around this?
They want to hire ASAP!!!!!! And I am waiting on hearing back from another firm who I interviewed with recently as well (lower pay but marketing firm).
Let me know your thoughts!
