Communal Spaces to meet people for under 21?

Me (20) and my partner (19) are struggling to make friends. Let's be real, it gets difficult after you're not in school anymore, and even though we're both in college, we take online classes so that's not really a great option. Right now, we exist in this gray area where we can't go to bars to meet people our age, and it feels kind of weird to go to cafes and try to chat it up. We're looking for lounge-like atmospheres, somewhere to relax or even go for a date night. Places where it's not out of the ordinary to meet others around our age. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're just exhausted with trying to use dating apps to meet people. Thanks for any help.
