Best Knitting Books? Need some wishlist fodder :)
I'm in a gift exchange and thinking of what "wouldn't buy myself" type things I can add. I was thinking knitting (and/or crochet) reference books, ideally ones that teach adaptabilty and modification, have common pattern blocks / techniques, etc. Like: I love the yoke of this sweater but I want it to be long-sleeved. I'd love to have a book that has a few sleeve techniques / shaping suggestions to help me modify.
I'm an intermediate knitter with no fear of new things, but I just knit the top half of a sweater 4 times in a year because I couldn't figure out how to make it fit right. Does this make sense? What are your favorite knitting books for classic makes that you can modify?
