Dye before or after a salon cut?

Hello!

I'm wanting to dye my hair with a semi-permanent dye (my friend suggested manic panic for a dark red color), but I have a hair cut scheduled for this Friday! Should I dye my hair before or after my haircut? I don't want my stylist to get mad at me if my hair is still bleeding, but I've heard that stylists dye before cutting.

Any advice would be awesome for a first time dyer! Thank you!
