I need help with minecraft mods

I have a windows 11 laptop and I have Minecraft bedrock edition downloaded, I followed a few tutorials on youtube to get some mods but the java edition that's loaded for me looks to be out dated. I just want to get mods that I can play with that aren't laggy, outdated graphics, or take up to much storage. I have forge downloaded and I kinda just need some guidance since I'm not tech savvy and I'm pretty clueless
