AITA for asking for a date?

Me (28M) and my friend 27(F) have been friends for a couple months now. We started to develop feelings for each other so I asked her out and she said yes. We were too busy to plan a date within the week I asked her out but we texted a lot that week. Before the date she wanted to ensure our values and beliefs were on the same page before we started anything because she didn't want to waste time (cause she had an ex that didn't line up and things fell through 6 years later after dating).

In our conversation, she had mentioned wanting kids and I had said I currently don't see kids in my life right now, and idk if that will change. I kinda regret these words because I wish I had said something like I am unsure if I want kids, but have concerns leaning towards no. This is something I had not really thought about much because I tend to only think in the now.

At my current point in my life, I don't want kids, but it is possible in 2-5 years I will. We decided after this talk to continue being friends.

A couple weeks have gone by and almost all of last week we were texting a ton, and we went out for drinks with mutual friends last Friday and continued our conversation through the weekend. I still feel (and maybe I am biased) that we both have feelings for each other.

Reading a lot about children and parenting as well as reading posts on fence sitters sub and talking with my family and friends recently, one thing I have noticed is a lot of people who were unsure and ended up having kids LOVED having kids. However, almost all of them were already in long term relationships.

AIT for want to ask questions about her belief in children (like what her timeline is on wanting them, and how many she wants, etc...)? AITA to ask her out and asking her to give me a chance?
