I have been down on my luck the last few months. My boyfriend broke up with me after my best friend lied to him about seeing me sleeping with someone at a party. I always knew she was jealous but to go around and lie? That was too much. The depression that followed made me fall behind in school and I ended up failing my last semester. Losing a substantial scholarship. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to go to college next semester or not.

Especially after I got laid off of work last month. The depression of the breakup plus depression from failing let to me not doing well at my waitressing job. I used to get good tips with my cheerful attitude and good looks. But now I barely left with $20 a night. Until I was fired. Then I wasn’t able to make any money.

Which leads us into right now as I stare up at you as you glare down at me. I had already missed previous months rent and promised both last month and this months rent today. But I just don’t have the money. I tried to plead with you to give me more time but my pleas are falling on deaf ears.

“Please, don’t kick me out. I’ll do anything to stay, i- I can clean or wash clothes or anything just please!” I say tears welling up in my eyes.
