Looking to buy a camera for someone not very tech savvy

Recommendations

·       Budget: £500 for body and lens

·       Country: England

·       Condition: New

·       Type of Camera: Mirrorless

·       Intended use: Photography

·       If photography; what style: Landscape

·       If video what style: N/A

·       What features do you absolutely need: Auto-flash, face / eye detection, battery life > 300 shots

·       What features would be nice to have:

·       Portability: Should fit comfortably in a handbag

·       Cameras you're considering: Canon EOS R100 – A good small size and light, looks good quality with a long enough battery life (300-400 shots). Doesn’t appear to be too complicated to use. Found an offer at £408 with 18-45mm lens. Couldn’t buy it from the retailer, hence why I’m asking.

·       Cameras you already have: None. Only experience is basic point and shoot cameras

·       Notes: This is for my mum who isn’t very tech savvy. It’ll be her first proper camera and she wants it for a trip to the USA. She’ll be taking pictures of landscapes as well as people at family gatherings. She’d also love it if she doesn’t have to switch lenses. She’s also not fussed if it has touchscreen.

I understand there probably won’t be much in my budget but any advice is greatly appreciated. I’m also open to receiving options that are above the budget but could come down with an offer.
