Our teenage boy cat bites me when HE is choosing to rub on my hand!

We’ve fostered a lot, he’s new, i understand his boundaries and positive reinforcement and we just got him recently.

I learned not to pet him really unless he comes up to me and rubs himself on my legs or arms especially. He prefers his face/neck, sometimes i’ll give a two hand full body slick back if he is feeling crazy and extra lovey. He eats that shit up if I do it once or twice.

Anyway, he was sitting on my chest, something he doesn’t do very often, and I didn’t wanna risk it with overstimulation. If he wants cuddles he will rub his face on mine, or on my hands if I offer it. I didn’t offer it bc I wanted it on his own terms, he’ll tap my hand if he wants it out and i’ll gently pet his chin for a few seconds.

I have my hand just sitting near him a bit, accessible if he wants it, then he goes at it twice. Maybe he overstimulated himself?? Or wanted pets? No clue.

Advice of teenage cats, especially males. It’s gonna be a long year or 2 😭
