New turntable or buy a amp

So I have a turntable without amp and i have it at the opposite end of the room of where the speakers and receiver are this is due to that i use my reciever and speakers for my tv and there is no room to setup the turntable anywhere close. Problem is that the distance is causing so much noise. So the solution is a amp. either within the turntable or external. For a new turntable i would have about 200 budget. But if i would go for an amp i think i couls save some money there? What would your advice be?
