luggage questions

Hi! I'm gonna be traveling from NYS to Virginia (and back) on a FlixBus this weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. I've never traveled by FlixBus before, so I'm mostly wondering-- just how strict are the luggage requirements?

I have just the free stored bag and carry-on; I believe my suitcase is within the dimensions requirement, though I'm not quite sure if it's under 50 lbs. My carry-on might be an inch or so above dimensions, though should be within the weight limit. I also was hoping to take a separate purse with me, to avoid having to dig important things out of my carry-on (it's not super big -- the size of a Loungefly backpack, maybe). How strict are they about these things?

I can probably live without the purse if I have to, but if my other luggage is even a little bit over the weight/size limits, will there be an issue? Do they even check that stuff if it's not an obvious problem?

Sorry if these questions are a bit silly, I'm just super anxious and can't really find solid answers anywhere.
