Help finding design software

I’m not certain this is the right place to ask this, but I’m looking for help on choosing design software to develop blueprints for two new residential construction projects. My background is in construction, not architecture… I know what I want to build, I know how to build it, but I lack the drafting experience to reliably put plans on paper that will pass muster at a permitting office. I need software that can do more than just draw boxes… I need software that can handle loft spaces, double walls on exterior, single pitch offset roofs, non-standard wall heights, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
