Anyone prefer standard ADHD stimulants rather than time released versions?

Medication

I’ve been on Foquest for almost 2 years, increasing in dose (currently at 70mg). During that time I also had braces. I have had significant appetite issues, which I’ve been working with a dietitian off and on for, and keeping in discussions with my diagnostic practitioner. We were hoping the removal of my braces would help my appetite (as a lot of my safe foods were things I couldn’t eat with braces or it was just too difficult). However I’ve had my braces off for 2.5 months and still have significant appetite issues. I want to start exercising again but I’m pretty much only intaking enough calories to sustain my weight.

Does anyone actually prefer standard multiple dose a day medications over time released versions? I’m thinking they might work better for me with my appetite.

Non-stimulants weren’t a strong option for me because of how overwhelmed my brain was when starting my meds and how severe my symptoms are (I was basically at burnout and I haven’t fully emerged from that).

I’m a little concerned about the crash people say they have, but it might be worth it for me 😂

Not really looking for specific med suggestions just if anyone has preferred the old-school 2-4 pills a day version.
